Music for the crossing
‘Music for the crossing’ is a special performance on the border of visual art, music and literature. With AKO literature prize winner Stefan Hertmans and his ‘War and Turpentine’, visual artist Koenraad Tinel and Oleg Lysenko as musicians. A crossover in which Stefan Hertmans reads from his impressive book ‘War and Terpentine’, Koenraad Tinel draws live, with projection on a large screen, and Oleg plays the bayan.
The audience watches breathlessly. A wonderful combination: Hertmans’ quiet diction, the melancholy music and the white sheets on which the most beautiful drawings keep appearing. If this is a one-off performance, then that would be a shame: the trio could just go into the country with it, it is that special!
